The dog, a four-year-old Golden Retriever named Phoebe, was found dead in the hold of the Qantas passenger jet after it touched down in Singapore last Wednesday. Phoebe's owners are on their way to Norway for a holiday and had brought their dog with them. The flight, QF9, was due to depart at 5.10pm but was delayed in Melbourne for five hours. The owners claim their pet was left on tarmac for more than five hours as the temperature hit 32C. Qantas associated businesses executive general manager Grant Fenn said the flight was delayed, but two other dogs on the same flight arrived safely.
The airline carries thousands of live animals every year.
The autopsy result indicates that the dog died of heat exhaustion. "We understand this has been extremely upsetting for the dog's owners, " Mr Fenn said.
(we are definitely flying cathay pacific)

Hey, don't worry too much, for starters its a fat golden, its always gonna have more chances of dying fromt he heat stress/exhaustion.
You know that, lil mocha won't even feel it being warm, i mean he spends half his days sitting on the window thingy sun bathing, and when u come home from school and touch him he's pretty damn hot, hehe. I miss that, he has a massive doggy smell after he sun bakes
So yeah, i think mocha should be fine honey, but sure hopefully cathay pacific is better and more caring than those fat white chicks, hehe
Well no matter what it'd be a good idea to provide them with lots of water.
Maybe we should shave boo boo before the flight?
Just a thought, but it might not matter much, cause when they are coming home it'd be cooler months anyways, thats definately an advantage, it'll be winter, they may be too cold!!!!
hehe, poor kids, but definately not a good idea to fly in summer in aus, especially with delay,
don't worry hun, that factor alone will make it heaps safer.
